Le mie difficoltà d'insegnante

Egr. Direttore,

recentemente ho letto alcune lettere di cittadini, insegnanti e genitori che comunicavano la loro preoccupazione circa i cambiamenti che si stanno verificando all’interno della nostra scuola e che ne stanno snaturando completamente il suo vero significato: essere un luogo di istruzione ed educazione. Poi qualche giorno fa un altro articolo dal titolo “In Sicilia la fabbrica degli insegnanti di sostegno” ad un certo punto affermava “E che dire di una criptica diagnosi siglata “Nac”? Nessuna nuova malattia che sfugge ai medici. Nac sta per “non altrimenti certificato” Una patologia inventata su misura per compiacere qualche scuola che ha bisogno di piazzare un insegnante, a qualunque costo”…. “A Enna c’è qualcosa di ancora più esilarante. Era stata accertata dalla Asl una “grave difficoltà di apprendimento della lingua italiana” Ma i medici si sono dimenticati di specificare che il bambino era arabo”.

Incredibile, ma vero!

A causa di interventi di carattere psichiatrico nella scuola ora gli errori di calcolo, di scrittura, di ortografia o la troppa vivacità sono diventati disturbi e se una volta di fronte a delle normali difficoltà c’era il continuo esercizio e più ore venivano dedicate alla lingua italiana e alla matematica, ora come soluzione si sottopone il bambino a dei test cognitivi ed il gioco è fatto!

Io ritengo che per poter imparare qualsiasi cosa sia a scuola che nella vita ci voglia perseveranza, persistenza, duro e continuo esercizio. Un esempio potrebbe essere quello di un bambino che vuole imparare a suonare il pianoforte: lui inizia con il solfeggio, attraverso esercizi su esercizi incomincia a suonare le prime note, finché riuscirà, prima o poi, a suonare brevi e semplici melodie e a fare accordi. E qualora lui dovesse incontrare delle difficoltà nel suo percorso musicale non farà altro che tornare indietro e continuare con il suo allenamento. Non verrà fermato al primo fallimento o al secondo, dicendogli:”Tu non sarai mai in grado di suonare il pianoforte”. “Ora faremo un test”, ma lui verrà incitato a continuare, sino a quando otterrà il tanto agognato sogno: suonare il pianoforte! E così lui vincerà. E se anche non dovesse raggiungere il suo obiettivo, non verrebbe in ogni caso considerato affetto da “disturbo della musica”.

In qualità di insegnante con mio grande sgomento recentemente sono stata testimone diretta di un episodio increscioso accaduto proprio nella mia classe: alcuni mesi fa sono venuta a sapere attraverso una lettera arrivata nella mia classe che i genitori di un mio alunno si erano rivolti ad un centro per una valutazione cognitiva e logopedia, relativa ad alcune difficoltà nell’ambito dell’apprendimento scolastico, difficoltà sottolineo normalissime che qualsiasi scolaro potrebbe incontrare nel suo percorso didattico, a maggior ragione giustificabili nel mio alunno, se si fa presente che nella classe di cui sono ora titolare, in prima è mancata una figura stabile di riferimento nella lingua italiana. Sovente i bambini venivano alloggiati in altre classi del plesso, con tutte le problematiche didattiche che da questo ne sono derivate.

Nella lettera delle due specialiste, una logopedista e una psicologa, non erano allegate le prove vere e proprie somministrate all’alunno, ma venivano riferiti soltanto i punteggi relativi alle stesse e in essa veniva affermato che erano da considerarsi patologici i punteggi al di sotto del -2.

Faccio presente che le due esperte, prima di somministrare le prove di calcolo, scrittura e competenza ortografica al mio alunno fatte tra dicembre e gennaio, non avevano MAI contattato né me, né tanto meno le altre colleghe della classe per informarsi sul percorso didattico-educativo intrapreso dal bambino, sulle unità di apprendimento svolte durante l’anno scolastico in corso e negli anni precedenti, sui progressi da lui raggiunti, sul rapporto del bambino con i compagni di classe e con le insegnanti.

Inoltre la logopedista si era permessa di interferire nella conduzione dell’attività didattica, mettendo per iscritto sul diario dell’alunno quale azione fosse più giusta e quale lei ritenesse sbagliata. Questi “esperti” si sono sostituiti completamente al ruolo di noi insegnanti, dettano leggi e regole, si erigono a “gli intoccabili”, come se fossero al di sopra delle parti.
Una parte della psichiatria dichiara che questi disturbi (dislessia, disortografia, discalculia, disgrafia) esistono e sono disturbi di carattere neurologico, mentre altri psichiatri e psicologi affermano l’esatto contrario. Dove sono le prove di laboratorio che dimostrano la veridicità dell’esistenza di questi “disturbi”?

La logopedista nell’unico colloquio avuto disse che lei era contraria ad etichettare i bambini, ma, contraddicendosi, continuava affermando che lo aveva fatto per salvaguardare l’alunno quando frequenterà la scuola media. Questa sua affermazione mi ha lasciata attonita! E’ come dire che lei era consapevole che il problema fosse la scuola, in questo caso la scuola secondaria di primo grado ma, se si etichetta il bambino, i professori della scuola media potranno fare qualcosa per lui! Ora questa logopedista, a detta della mamma, segue il mio alunno a pagamento.

Ritengo che il disegno di legge sulla dislessia, che ha ricevuto parere favorevole dalla Commissione Istruzione del Senato recentemente, sia un pericolo reale per tutti i nostri bambini, che non hanno bisogno di bolle o etichettature come al tempo del nazismo! Hanno invece bisogno di educazione e istruzione, che siano il risultato dell’attività degli insegnanti in collaborazione e con il sostegno dei genitori e della capacità di apprendimento da parte del bambino, attraverso tutti gli strumenti di cui l’istituzione scolastica dispone all’interno di essa. Ed è proprio all’interno di essa che si devono ricercare le cause di un’istruzione in decadimento e di una dispersione scolastica in continuo aumento!
Chi di noi nel nostro trascorso scolastico non sarebbe stato etichettato per qualche difficoltà?
